Cole explains why he has broken the contact with the circle and why he had done what he had done on the island. He says that it was just to escape prison, he is honest. Edwin does an expiriment in front of the circle to prove that Cole really changed. He imagines that he would be led into the courtroom wearing handcuffs.
He hears from Edwin and Garvey that he has to go back to the island.
