A wolf is nearby the camp, and it disappears. Cole works hard on the shelter.
The next morning, Cole is teached to go on to the pond himself to
soak in the ice-cold water. He also carries the rock up the hill and rolls it down again. As Cole watches the pond, he sees a white creature disappearing into the woods.
